Crazy Random....

Hi Manic Monday friends! I'm so happy to finally get in a manic Monday post. It should just become the norm that Monday's posts are hard to get done. And this one is going to be THE MOST MANIC ever posted! In fact, I don't anticipate it making sense at all!

It's not even about organization!

What?

I'm not organized enough to get an organization post up today. But I did have a really fun weekend that I'd like to share with you....and a couple other random-shmandom things. That will make this my first ever TRULY Manic Monday post!

The 24th of July is the yearly anniversary of when Utah became a state. Every year there is a big celebration. It's kind of great because the patriotism from the 4th just spills over a couple extra weeks, and all the fireworks come back out 2 weeks later. I'm in for a celebration ANYTIME! So I've always loved this tradition.

Some of our friends come over and set off fireworks at our house every year. That's become a part of our tradition. It's usually UBER low-key. Everyone brings lawn chairs and some fireworks to share.

But this year, we kind of went overboard.

First, you have to promise to dismiss the quality of the photos. Our backyard faces directly West, and it makes it hard to avoid harsh shadows at sundown.

This is our "topping table". It has fresh raspberries and strawberries. Oreos, whipped cream, chocolate, sprinkles....I bet you can't guess where were going with this.

Ice cream. Well, yes. But maybe not like you thought.

Check out our SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM MACHINE! Isn't it AWESOME???

Some of our cute friends are starting a new business. They are renting this awesome ice cream machine out for parties. Isn't that brilliant? It was SOOOO much fun! I ate till I was sick. And then ate some more.

They're just getting started with their business....as soon as it's available for rent, I'll give you the info. Wouldn't that be fun for a birthday party, or a block party, or a Wednesday? So glad we got to try it out!

My son got a snow cone maker for his birthday last year, and he had his heart set on having a snow cone station. I couldn't tell him that we switched to the ice cream. So we just did both! Yay!

You don't have to ask us twice to get patriotic. We got out the sparklers, the pops, the Neil Diamond soundtrack. And ONLY legal fireworks. Promise! *wink*wink*

Then...to totally switch gears...my Hobby Lobby Hat post was featured on two AMAZING blogs today!

Check it out on:

I love this blog. She always finds such great stuff! And makes great stuff too. I don't know how I got lucky enough to be included!

that's right, I said UCREATE! No kidding.
Wah Hoo! It's like the getting a golden ticket. I'll just be waiting for my edible daffodil tea cup and goose that lays golden eggs. I'd also like a bean feast. Whatever that is! (and yes, that's the Gene Wilder version. Sorry Johnny Depp fans...I adore the 70's version!!)

Also, still random, my friend Kate @ Chic on a Shoestring Decorating got a brand new blog layout today! Go tell her how cute it is!! (okay, I'm biased. But I think it turned out great!)

And finally....to wrap up the most completely random post of all time.

GUESS WHAT?

I'm so close to 300 followers, it's scary! Well, not scary. More like AWESOME! I'm so excited I don't know quite what to say or do.

I know!

Let's have a giveaway!

As soon as I hit 300 followers...I have a great giveaway, from an awesome and talented artist to share. You're gonna love it!

Did I make your Monday a little more Manic? Sorry. Take a breather.

I'll be back soon. Hopefully bearing prizes!

And I saw that you were on UCreate! Congrats! I was on there last month, I think and felt the exact same way!

I've seen your hat in a couple places around blogland. I think Jen at Tatertots and Jell-o featured it as well. And I can't think of where else I have seen it.
