So what if I don't like the word craft?
I don't.

But you know what word I love?

CREATIVITY!

noun /ˌkrē-āˈtivitē/ 

The use of the imagination or original ideas, esp. in the production of an artistic work

It's one of my favorite words.  Probably tied with imagination, which is actually in the definition!  Bonus!


One of the things that sparks my inner creativity the very MOST is being around like-minded people.  People who get my need to go to Hobby Lobby and stand in the Popsicle stick isle for a weird amount of time.  Who understand my need to say "I can make that!" 

Isn't that why blogging is so FAN-TAS-TIC?

Earlier this month I spent a few days at a blogging conference in Arizona.  The most amazing thing about it was the people I met, got to hang with, and who clearly shared my love of all things CREATIVE!

That much creative power in one room?
Amazing!





That's why I am completely OVER THE MOON to announce an amazing gathering of CREATIVITY being planned for Spring of 2012.

SNAP is a gathering of all things creative.  From decor, to party planning, to hand-made, to DIY.  And yes.  Even crafts.
(did I just use that word in a sentence?)

Know who else will be gathering at SNAP?
Friends.

That is my VERY FAVORITE thing about the creative blogging world.  It's like a BUNCH of instant friends.  And not just regular friends.  Friends who immediately get that you stayed up all night to Freezer Paper Stencil shirts for your trip to Disneyland.
Who would do that?
Oh yeah.
I totally did.


Now I know, already, some of the reasons why you're feeling like this is scary for you.
Let me help you.

#1-it's expensive

I know.  I had to save my money for a while to go to a conference.  But that's why I'm telling you now.  Start saving.  Really.  Just cut down on your daily Diet Coke intake, and put the change in a jar.   (Believe me.  I KNOW that's hard.)

#2-you don't know anyone

Yep. Been there.  And I won't say it wasn't scary.  But let me tell you.  Getting out of your shell will be like 5 years of therapy for you.  Having to introduce yourself will give you confidence.  You will return a stronger person, and you will leave knowing LOTS of people.  And they will be your new besties.  

#3-you don't have a "big blog/business"

Most people there, don't. They don't. And guess what? Everyone had to start somewhere.  EVERYONE, including your "virtual bloggie idols" got excited when they got 50 followers.  And then 100.  Or got giddie when they made their first sale to someone who wasn't a relative!  They get that feeling.  That's what's so great about this community.  These amazing people want to help you get there!  And they're so approachable.  You will be stunned.  And inspired.

You WANT to come to this!  

Do you need more reasons to come?  Okay.
