Seems like a pre-requisite for owning a creative blog. (remember I don't like "crafts") Anyway, it seems like one of the requirements is showing how you decorated your "mantle"
My mantle is one of the only places in my home that I can decorate. I don't have a lot of available space. I do, however, have this really fun cut-out above the actual mantle that is fun to fill.
This year I decided to omit orange all together. I kept adding orange elements, and then deciding that it was way classier with less.
I went with a 3-D feather wreath hanging in the cut-out this year. It's a new idea and I think it might be here to stay.
I also love the wire spider that is almost hidden next to the artwork. I bought that art piece at Robert's Crafts last year on a uber clearance sale.
Probably the winner of the whole display is the awesome candlesticks. I wish I could claim credit for them. But I bought them last season at a darling local home decor store called "Thistles". It is located in Draper, Utah. And they always have awesome holiday decor at reasonable prices. If you are close, you should totally check it out.
Consider an edit this year, and see what it looks like without ALL the color. You might love it! (PS....there's orange in other spots.....don't panic!)

I have to say my eye is really drawn to that spooky pic of a tree. I find I prefer the toned down look without lots of crazy colors. Yours looks great!
ReplyDeleteLove the omition of the orange! On a side note...LOVE Thistles! Had NO idea you were in Utah too. Such a small world - and fun to find out that a blog I've been following is osmeone right in my same town! Love it!

So very cute! I love the framed picture and the wreath is adorable!
ReplyDeleteNo panic here. I love it when seasonal decor doesn't always include all the standard colors. Your mantel looks classy, simple, and fabulous. Love the wreath and the tree pic. Thanks for joining the party!
ReplyDeleteI love the no orange look, it's very dramatic! I'm gravitating that way myself too!
