I'm back with another last minute preparation. This one is EASY, FAST, and CHEAP. (no I'm not talking about me....the project....GEEZ!)
I kinda have a fascination with the Disney Villains. You may have noticed that HERE. I don't know if I really AM evil...or I just pretend that I want to be. Actually, I think it's a function of never thinking I measured up with the Princesses, and knowing that anyone can be the Villain. I think they're more fun anyway.
Regardless, I'm kind of loving inserting villainous things in our Halloween this year.
Enter white vinyl, and cheap black plastic.
I've got 2 whole projects....
Total cost: under $5.
Total time: 1/2 hour. Start to finish.
I started with this bang-up purchase from Wally's. You can see that awesome clearance price, right? ONE WHOLE DOLLAR. I think I paid with quarters. It's got a nice shape and will work perfect.
Wait.....
Hold up.....
This has NOTHING to do with my project....
But, WHAT THE?????
The inside sticker I peeled off.
I had to take a picture.
Read it. I'll wait.
What?????
Can you tell me exactly what about this plastic bangle, without any parts, would be detrimental to a twelve year old?
Alls I know is....it made me giggle. And that's enough right there.
Okay, back to our project!
I found a font I liked and fed it quickly into my Silhouette software. (did I mention that this machine has transformed my existence? )
2 minutes later, and a little careful peel and sticks. (I rarely use transfer paper, unless it's completely necessary)
I now have this little accessory to wear to all the parties. Sweet! It's Haloween-ee, and accurately depicts my yearning to be a super Villain. Yay! (it also sort of reminds me of a certain play, in which, I would star as Elphaba, and rise into the rafters while belting out the most glorious version of Defying Gravity ever heard.....wait.....sorry. Daydreaming again.)
Project #2 starts with more CHEAP black plastic. A clearance tray from Target. (which I actually decided to use another time) And one of those uber cheap chargers from Hobby Lobby.
Again, a quick feed into the Silhouette....
Peel, stick....
And up high on that shelf, no one would know this baby is plastic.
And I kind of love it!
In conclusion, I will be fervently trying to be a super villain.
And will also continue on my quest to do cool, cute, stuff in a super quick and cheap manner. (still....talking about the projects....NOT a personal commentary!)
Head out for some cheap black plastic of your own!
Great projects and cheap : )
ReplyDeleteWe must have been separated at birth. I LOVE Disney Villains, "Wicked" and Elphaba is totally my girl. Now long lost twin, when do I get the Silhouette???
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I like the bracelet. It's unique and clever and cute. Something I would have NEVER thought up on my own. Well done lady!
ReplyDeleteI love projects like these: simple, cute, cheap and fast! Just adorable (in a spooky kind of way).
ReplyDeleteWarnings like that make you wonder what child managed to injure themselves and sue WalMart, using only a single plastic bangle...
ReplyDeleteEasy, fast and cheap. ROFL - thanks for a good laugh, missy! ;)
ReplyDeleteCute ideas!! Does the warning have something to do with the new lead laws?
ReplyDeleteomgoodness...seriously funny label!!!!
ReplyDeleteThose labels started to appear on most jewelry and jewelry parts made in China at the same time as the news about the lead found in the metal.
ReplyDeleteI love these projects! You are so creative and inspiring - now I just need to get busy and do these things too - and get myself this sillouette!
