But not like you'd think. And not like I'd hoped.
BIG FROWNIE FACE. :(
I had a post idea for today, and was so excited to get back to our good 'ol buddy....the Manic Monday organizational post.
However.....
Manic Monday around here was, beyond Manic.
It's a long and stupid story. But you know, one of THOSE DAYS!
It starts with a monumental 3 year old tantrum.
(should have tipped me off to begin with)
And ends with me accidentally locking my daughter in the car in the Target parking lot. In 20 degree temperatures.
(Thanks to the Fire Department and Policeman who came to help. I swear I'm not a space case. Or a completely incompetent individual. And YES my car DOES freakishly lock itself if you don't open the driver's door. I dunno. I didn't make that feature.)
Instead of bemoaning the complete disaster that my Manic Monday turned into.
And instead of stressing about an unwritten blog post.
I've decided to just give you all credit.
And realize that you've had these kinds of days too.
And that you'll understand if I didn't get my medicine cabinet cleaned out the way I'd planned.
You will understand....right?
Particularly if I tell you I DID make it to Hobby Lobby today. In the midst of the craziness. And there's DEFINITELY a few fun things coming up......PINKIE SWEAR!!!
(and at least one of them will have a free printable. One will be from the 66% off department at the HL. One will involve hot glue. And one is a collaboration between me & THE PODGE. Ooooohhhh I'm excited just thinking about it!!)
I feel your pain! I've been there more than once! What a positive way to handle the pending blog post; by admitting you're not as perfect as you seem. Makes me feel better :)
ReplyDeleteManic indeed! And yes, indeed, have we all been there. I locked my *at the time* one year old in the car last fall - complete with keys and cell phone! Luckily my sister hadn't pulled out of the otherwise deserted parking lot quite yet and we were able to get the po-po's there to help a sister out.
ReplyDeleteHooray for still making it to Hobby Lobby - I went there today, too! (When is Cafe Rio and MG happening??)
Hope tomorrow's a better day!
Totally locked my son in the car when he was 9 months old and it was about 70 out. There was a police station in the parking lot I was in. They officers told the guy who went to ask for help that they couldn't do anything, and that we need to call the fire department. Darn the cell phone was in the car. Turned out well in the end.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you were able to get help. Tomorrow will be better.
Our old mini-van used to freakishly lock itself, seriously. It was weird and annoying. I locked my boys in the van at a gas station. The worst part was that the van had a number key pad to unlock it but I couldn't remember the number because I was freaking out that they were locked in... awesome. Thank goodness for the firemen. :)
ReplyDeleteWe've all had days like that.
That is totally my fear (especially with a newborn in the car), I'm such a freak that I often open one of the front doors and leave it open until I get the baby out of the car just to make sure he doesn't get locked in... the 2 year old can fend for himself in his warm coat until we get rescued. ;)
ReplyDeletePS I just LOVE your blog and get excited to read all of your posts! Thanks for such a great job! I blog, but not so consistently!

I've never had a car that locked itself, but I did have one that would honk the horn on it's own. super fun! In fact- we ended up having to disconnect the horn, but, it still honked when my sister was leaving for college- freaky, freaky car!
ReplyDeleteHope today is a better day.
xoxo,
Amy
Oh, those kind of days are ROUGH! And, yes, we've all been there. I haven't, fortunately, locked any children in the car; but, I've locked us OUT of the car while running errands in 110* temps. That does not make for happy kiddos. I hope your Tuesday was much better.
