Wait.
What decor?
Boo. I don't have a ton of that.
But I'm not adverse to getting some going. Let's see what we can make...shall we?
I know I've said it, but I am having so much fun with my Epic Letterpress Machine! And I think it wants to make Easter decorations with me.
Please tell me your creative tools speak to you as well....
No?
Okay...just me then.
Remember my first Letterpress adventure? Well I'm about to embark again. Only this won't be my maiden voyage. So hopefully it will go a little smoother.
I'm still flippin' all over these inks. Just seeing them spread out on the printing plate makes me SUPER happy! They are so vibrant and "thick" with color. I don't know how else to describe it. And I had to copy my girl Char @ Crap I've Made and show you how awesomely the inks match up with their tube color.
OOOOHHHHH....pretty!
Check back to my first Letterpress attempt for some more specifics on inking. But I want to mention that the first time I decided to skip the little foamie place holders (not the "technical name") for the paper. And I used them this time.
Totally use them! It was lovely.
This time I went with trying a whole plate. And It was a REALLY different experience. Seemed easier to ink. Not as precarious. And I got one heck of a workout rollin' it through the machine.
Please feel free to be jealous of the ripped arms I aquired from 2.5 seconds of letterpressin'.
One last note about Letterpress. It's a bit messy. And when I first looked at the supplies I honestly thought "why would I need baby wipes labeled with the Lifestyle logo?"
Hello?
These are SOOOO not baby wipes. And you NEED them. I realized this once I tried them and then read Lifestyles Epic 101 on the cleaning cloths.
Best clean up tool. And so super fast.
I was thrilled to see that super cool teal sheet come out of the Letterpress.
Then I took the sheet and cut out some letters from it.
- If you plan on using a digital cutter for this step, be aware that the Letterpress paper is SUPER THICK! I suggest a double cut. And even then you might have to do a little "clean up" to get them just right.
I put my paper inside the frame, and then placed the letters on the outside of the glass.
I used some sticky foam risers on the letters. In fact I even doubled them up for even more "pop".
Do you think the Easter Bunny will stop at my house and leave me some Easter Candy?
'Cause I gotta be honest...I'm DYING here.
If that bunny, or more specifically that rabbit that clucks like a chicken, doesn't leave me some little chocolate eggs with crunchy shells....I might not be able to survive.Don't forget:Lifestyle Crafts is offering Less Cake {more frosting} readers
