One more quick and inexpensive way to give your Christmas decor some "WOW" without wowing your wallet. (And I LOVE how mine turned out! You will too.)
I started with a styrofoam ball, that I had left over from THIS PROJECT. And I painted it with a color that matched my beads. I used a 15ft. bead strand from the Christmas decorating isle at Hobby Lobby. It covered one 4" ball almost exactly.
You start by hot gluing one bead to the bottom of your ball and wait for it to dry.
Hot glue in small sections, wrapping the beads tightly all the way around. Periodically push them down to make sure you're getting an even, tight wrap. Work slowly because if you have to reposition the beads and glue, it will pull up the paint.
The result is AN AWESOME decor element that cost me about $3 or less. And the great thing is that you could do it in a TON of fun colors. Not just for Christmas. So watch as the Christmas stuff goes on clearance. You can make some for your regular decor as well. I ADORE mine.

ReplyDeletePretty. I need several of those! I love that you could do different sizes too. I tend to burn myself when I use a glue gun, though. Any help for clumsiness? And off topic...can I just comment on how darling that Mickey is? I think I need him!
