Thanks For Giving

You won't believe what I have for you today! Seriously....I AM SO EXCITED!

Last week I had the massive privilege of attending a bloggers night out at the amazing THANKSGIVING POINT in Lehi, UT.

I gotta say. It was kind of like the commoner being taken to the palace to meet the Queen. Only, in this instance, I was the commoner. And the "queen" was about 40 queens of blogging. Seriously. So out of my league.

I sat down next to Elisa. QUEEN of Mormon Mommy Blogs. Yep. And then after taking a deep breath, I asked her to tell me which other bloggers/Queens in the room I ought to be aware of.

Holy, overwhelming batman!

I decided, instead to focus on the AMAZING rock shrimp nachos that were made for us by the chef from the HARVEST RESTAURANT.
(It's crazy how fast super yummy food will make me forget about being overwhelmed and remind me that I'm hungry.)

We had a really fun tutorial on flowering bulb neighbor gifts.  And then got to try our hand at making our own.

Here's the one I made.  Let's make a couple notes about it, shall we?:
  • I have actually KILLED a cactus.  So I would probably never be able to make one of these produce a flower.
  • We were asked to put the extra greens inside the knot of the burlap.  And I purposely didn't put it there, just because I like to be a rebel like that.
  • Mostly I love that they're planted in a soup can.  And I think that's genius!
  • Mine somehow never made it home.  So whoever picked it up outside Thanksgiving point...you're welcome.

Then we got to hear about their amazing store, THE EMPORIUM, I had never been there before.  And perhaps that was best.  I could have wandered for hours.  And Santa could have purchased a good portion of my gifts there too.  (*hint to Santa.  He likes hints.  Right?)

My heart might have died a little over this cake stand.  Can't you hear it longing to be mine?  Listen.

Then we all picked up a hot coccoa, and boarded a trolley to see their OUTSTANDING LIGHT DISPLAY.  And you're not gonna believe who was my seat buddy.....

Okay, okay, I admit....I actually was invited by the FREAKISHLY AWESOME, OUTSTANDING, AMAZING, AND TOTALLY FAMOUS...JEN FROM TATERTOTS & JELLO. And I kinda, might have, sorta....rode in her actual car. So sitting next to her wasn't a completely unexpected event.

But still, I might have had that scene from Forrest Gump run through my mind. You know the one where he walks down the isle of the bus and every one says "taken" when he tries to get a seat.
    Worst. Nightmare. Ever.

We rode through the beauty of the lights. We talked about cookies, and Christmas, and Moms and kids. And we sipped our hot coccoa.
Now that I think about it.
The only thing that would have made it more perfect would have been a soundtrack of "Sleigh Ride" and some kind of Quatrafoil-Burlapie-Christmas Crafting!

I adored my time at THANKSGIVING POINT and can't wait to go back to explore more of the things they have to offer.  Even if I had a whole year, I'm not sure I could explore everything they have.

Hey, what if YOU had a year to explore

I'd like to give you that chance.

    No way, you say?

    Way.

I have one ANNUAL FAMILY PASS to THANKSGIVING POINT to give to ONE lucky reader.

    Their family pass is amazing.

    - Free Admission to Thanksgiving Point Gardens, Museum of Ancient Life and Farm Country
    - 10% Discount on Retail & Food Property Wide
    -Monthly Thanksgiving Point Gazette
    - E-Mail Blast
    - Personalized Membership Card
    - 50% off Admissions for accompanied guests
    - Early Admission to Thanksgiving Point Gardens
    - Mammoth Screen Movies $5 per person/per movie

    That's a $175 value.  Wow!

Can you believe that? I'm so excited to see who wins.

And here's another great part, a "family" is defined as "2 parents and all children living in the household under 18". And another great thing is that it's a "gift card" for a membership. So you COULD give it to someone as a Christmas gift. If you were, like, the nicest person in the world!!

    Here's how to enter:
(read carefully to make sure your entries count!)

    * to enter leave a comment on this post stating what would be the first thing you'd do with your new pass.  (DON'T FORGET YOUR E-MAIL SO I CAN CONTACT YOU IF YOU WIN.  SERIOUSLY. YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS OUT BECAUSE I CAN'T FIND YOU!)

    * if you want to have a 2nd entry....follow Less Cake {more frosting} and leave a separate comment telling me that you're a follower. If you are already a follower....YOU RULE! Leave me a comment telling me that you follow.

*I will give a 3rd entry to anyone who Facebooks, blogs, or tweets about the giveaway.  Leave me a comment with the link to your "SHOUT-OUT" and you can enter a 3rd time.

Get your entries in!  The contest will close on TUESDAY DECEMBER 14TH @ 12pm MST.  I will announce the winner on Wednesday the 15th.

BEST OF LUCK!  And don't forget to plan your trip to THANKSGIVING POINT to take in the Holiday Celebration, get a yummy bite to eat, and go shopping!

(disclosure: I was given a matching Annual Family Pass to Thanksgiving Point as an attendee for this event.  I'd like to sincerely thank both THANKSGIVING POINT and Jen Hadfield for this amazing opportunity.  I had a blast!)

    5. Man, I've gotta get in on this. How do I get invited to hang out with the cool club? :) I would LOVE to win this, although I never win anything, but it's worth a shot. I think we'd hit up the museum first!

    6. The Christmas light...first thing I would do is go see the Christmas lights since I am headed that way for Christms this year. I love Thanksgiving Point and would love to win a family pass. I now live in Idaho but my family all live in Lehi so I visit frequently. This would also give me extra excuses (HA!) to visit more often. Here's hoping!

We go there every time we go up north for ski trips, and such. My kids love the museum, and the gardens... wow! But I'm still brainstorming how to get you all down to Vegas for a weekend. Would Chip n' Dales be tempting? Nah, I'll keep thinking. :)
p.s. Thanks a gazillion for the "genius" comment. It made my day, um, week, um... ok I admit it made my year alright?!
